Description:

This course option is led by ACLS Instructors in a classroom setting.

ACLS is an advanced course that builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR, and high-performance team dynamics.

Audience:

ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiac arrest, stroke, or other cardiopulmonary emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, critical care/intensive care, and surgery such as Physicians, Nurses, and Paramedics, as well as others who need an ACLS course completion card for a job or other requirement. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years.

Mandatory Prior to Class:

• ACLS Prework, located at https://shopcpr.heart.org/acls-prework. https://elearning.heart.org/course/1551  Students must complete all three parts- the pretest, the videos, and the survey. At the completion of all three, you will be able to obtain the completion certificate. If you cannot print your completion certificate for the course, send a PDF to PALSProgram@childrensnational.org. Those without a copy of the prework completion certificate will not be permitted to stay and will need to reschedule.

Students who arrive more than 15 minutes beyond the start of the course will not be permitted to stay. Students who are running late should call 202-476-4654 on the day of the course.
