BLS for Healthcare Provider - EMPLOYEE MARATHON

 YOU MUST REGISTER WITH YOUR CHILDREN'S NATIONAL EMAIL ADDRESS.

Course Description:

     This is not an initial certification class for the Healthcare Provider Course. It is 3 hour American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers recertification course.

     This classroom course is for Healthcare Providers who need to maintain their Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification, as well as other lifesaving skills. It includes a cognitive portion (Part 1) and skills practice and testing (Parts 2 & 3). You will be required to pass both a written test and skills assessment.

     You have the option of taking the cognitive portion (Part 1) online which includes the course exam. If you would like to take the cognitive portion (Part 1) of the test online you have two options.

1)  You may request on of the 15 free online key codes by replying to the confirmation email sent to all registered users 2 weeks before the marathon.

2)  You can purchase a code from the American Heart Association by accessing the following link.

Audience:

     For Children’s National Health System Nurses, Doctors, PCT, and other Technicians

Please Bring:

     If you took Part 1 online, bring a copy of the completed certificate to the scheduled skills class and plan to arrive approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes past the schedule start time.

Prerequisites:

     Current valid Healthcare Provider CPR card

Online Key Codes:

     Information concerning key codes to complete the cognitive portion of the CPR course will be sent approximately two weeks before the scheduled class date to registered participants.  Please watch your email for this notification.

PALS - Initial Course

Description:

Designed to aid the pediatric healthcare provider in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children, resulting in improved outcomes.

Audience: 

For pediatricians, emergency physicians, family physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies.  Course description provided by American Heart Association®

Please Bring: 

Current PALS Provider Manual and completed pre-test.  Manuals are included in the course fees. Instructions for book pickup will be sent 14 days prior to course start.  For questions, please contact us at 202-476-3199.  The pretest can be found by following this link www.heart.org/eccstudent and entering the code palsprovider.

 

Please remember to print your results and bring them with you to class.

 

Prerequisites:

Current valid Healthcare Provider CPR card and a completed pre-course exam.

PALS - Renewal Course

Description:

Description:

Designed to aid the prehospital provider in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children.

Audience:

For paramedics and other prehospital providers who care for the pediatric population.
